Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Associate QA Engineer – Test Automation with 0–2 years of experience in software testing or test automation. The candidate will work with senior team members to develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and contribute to different phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

The role involves functional testing, test automation, regression and smoke testing, defect management, API testing, and participation in CI/CD-based testing activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Participate in all phases of the Testing Life Cycle, including requirement analysis, test design, test execution, and defect management.

  • Assist in building and maintaining test automation frameworks.

  • Design and implement test scripts and other testing artefacts.

  • Perform functional, regression, and smoke testing.

  • Support automated testing as part of CI/CD pipelines.

  • Identify, document, track, and report software defects using appropriate defect management tools.

  • Prepare, maintain, and report test cases, test results, and other QA artefacts.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.

  • Convert business requirements and processes into appropriate test scenarios and automation scripts.

  • Participate in team and client reviews.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, and best practices.

  • Support manual testing activities whenever required.

  • Assist with test environment setup and configuration.

  • Continuously develop technical and domain knowledge and adapt to new testing technologies.

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (BE/BTech), BCA, MCA, MS, or a related field.

  • 0–2 years of experience in software testing or test automation.

  • Basic understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and STLC.

  • Familiarity with at least one automation tool/framework such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.

  • Basic programming/scripting knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript.

  • Basic understanding of Git and version control systems.

  • Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured is preferred.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI is desirable.

  • Basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Exposure to test management/defect management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr is desirable.

  • Basic understanding of SQL and database concepts.

  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or willingness to obtain the certification is an added advantage.

  • Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

 

Technical Skills

  • Test Automation: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar

  • Programming/Scripting: Java, Python, or JavaScript

  • API Testing: Postman, REST Assured

  • CI/CD: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI

  • Version Control: Git

  • Defect/Test Management: Jira, TestRail, Zephyr

  • Database: SQL and basic database concepts

  • Testing: Functional, Regression, Smoke, Web Application Testing

  • Microsoft Office: Windows, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

Functional / Domain Skills

  • Insurance domain knowledge is desirable.

  • Understanding of business processes and workflows.

  • Basic understanding of retail insurance products is an advantage.

 

Business & Client Engagement

  • Understand client business requirements and convert them into test scenarios.

  • Prepare automated test cases based on business requirements.

  • Map client business processes to appropriate automation scenarios.

  • Map and cross-reference client requirements with test scenarios.

  • Present test results and reports in a clear and understandable format.

  • Demonstrate accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on exposure to Manual Testing + Automation Testing, along with knowledge of Java/Python/JavaScript, Selenium/Playwright/Cypress, API Testing, SQL, Git, and Agile, will be preferred.
